Maximum: 10 kids (including birthday child). At least one parent/guardian needs to be present, other guest “helpers” like grandma/grandpa are welcome. Depending on the type of party planned additional help may not only be welcome, but necessary!

Invitations need to address clothing: Please specify appropriate art party clothing: old clothes, including socks and shoes, if possible. Please no brand new pants or party dresses!

All art supplies, paint shirts, nametags, a decorated hat for the birthday child, a “Buddy Bookmark” favor for each child, Koolaid (if having cake/ice cream) are included.

Party options:

  • Art making with time allotted for opening gifts and having cake/ice cream/drinks.
  • Art making only – cake, presents, etc., elsewhere after the art party (Happy Joes, your home, wherever).
  • Parties can be scheduled at your convenience – weekdays or weekends, mornings, afternoons or evenings, as long as there are no other workshops or classes scheduled in the studio.

Art making options:

  • “Open Studio” – Jackie will choose several art activities, depending on the age of the children. Art may include various painting options (paper, wood, fabric), clay/Model Magic), printmaking/stamping, sculpture, drawing, face painting, weaving, copper repoussee, etc.
  • Project specific – Together we choose a suitable project that kids will start and finish during the art time. For example, painted and stuffed animal pillow, string puppets, plaster masks/sculptures, tie dye, felted ornaments, beanbag creatures, shrink art, etc.

Parents supply cake, ice cream, other treats as desired and “character” items (i.e., Barbie or Spiderman plates, cups), if desired. Otherwise we use my utensils, dishes, cups, etc.

Children may be dropped off/picked up at the studio or you may gather them at your home and transport them in a bunch! Please use the garage door entrance as there are coat pegs there, as well as rugs/vinyl surface flooring. Thank you!
Benefits: Kids have a fun time creating art, using their imaginations…all activities involve choices and decision making on the part of the kids. They also build skills and learn useful techniques, in an enjoyable setting with their friends! And they will all go home with creations they made themselves and can be proud of – and that will serve as fun reminders of your child’s special birthday!

Cost: $40/hour plus supply fee/child. Most parties are 1-1/2 – 2 hours. If a more time consuming project is chosen (puppets, for example) more than 2 hours may be necessary. Most 2 hour parties cost about $100 total. This may seem pricey per hour, however, parties entail a lot of preparation before the party, as well as clean up time afterwards. And all the kids have something nice to take home! A $25 deposit is necessary to book a party.
